Admit

Admit is a rotation engineered to protect evening sign-out times and provide overnight admission support for the pediatric hospital medicine teams at Boston Children’s Hospital. Each admit team is comprised of a supervising resident and an intern. Admit residents are scheduled from 3pm to 11pm (twilight) or 11pm to 7am (overnight) and are responsible for taking ED and direct admissions during that time to allow safe pass-off of patient care for the other teams. In addition to protecting care transitions for the primary hospital medicine teams, this well-loved rotation also allows residents increased autonomy and honing of their general pediatrics skills. It also gives interns protected time to learn hospital systems and receive dedicated teaching on common general pediatrics topics.
