BCRP Welcomes New Intern Class
The Boston Combined Residency Program welcomes 47 new pediatric and 4 med-peds members of what promises to be one of the best classes in its history. The new interns come from 20 states and 10 countries, went to 37 different colleges and 31 different medical schools. They majored in nearly 30 diverse subjects including, in addition to a wide variety of biological sciences, anthropology, genetics, pharmacology, ecology, history, art history, French, Spanish, classics, community health, child development, international affairs, international politics, health policy and management, economics, Judaic studies, violin performance, horn performance, music composition, chemistry, computer science, and mathematics. Thirteen are PhDs, four have PhD-like research experience, and seven hold an MPH, MEd, MM or MBA. Five of the new interns went to medical school at Columbia, four at Tufts and Boston University, three at Harvard and Pennsylvania, and two each at Pittsburgh, UCSF, Johns Hopkins, Mount Sinai, Massachusetts, Penn State and Michigan.
